Imagine a stage crowded with young musicians between the ages of 8 and 18, filling the auditorium with the brilliant sounds of symphonic music. Now expand the picture to approximately 400 musicians, some of whom have limited financial means, participating in weekly programs that enable them to learn responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. Realize that with the help of conductors, teachers, parents, volunteers, and donors, this is happening in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Music Opportunity Program (MOP), consisting of three orchestras and a string academy, is one of the best kept secrets in the area. For more than 20 years, MOP has fostered the artistic and personal development of talented youth, thereby enriching the surrounding communities.

Today, the Music Opportunity Program Foundation enables MOP to fulfill its mission, "To provide quality string instruction and orchestra training for talented young people enriching their lives and the lives of their families, schools, communities." As we continue classes, rehearsals and concerts, we invite you to make a donation to support this incredible program and to keep MOP moving forward.
