BSO is an entry level string orchestra for young strudent musicians. Members of the Birmingham String Orchestra (BSO) come from string instrument instruction programs throughout the Greater Birmingham area. Each year BSO performs two formal concerts as well as a series of concerts at schools in the area. BSO also performs in the annual Showcase Recital. For this very special MOP event a small group of BSO students is selected to perform as the BSO Honors Ensemble.

BSO traveled to 3 local schools yesterday (Dec. 1) to perform for students. They performed at Phillips Academy and EPIC Elementary School, both Birmingham City Schools, and Gwin Elementary, a Hoover City School. The Birmingham Prelude Strings will be traveling on Friday (Dec. 3) to Brown Elementary, a Birmingham City School, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic School.
