Here are Dr. Remley's notes for the Spring Concert Dress Rehearsal this Saturday.

Thank you for making a lot of progress today.  We are very close to having a terrific concert.  By now, you know what you need to take care of, so please do your part and be ready for Saturday’s rehearsal and Sunday’s concert.  You don’t want to let a mistake that could have and should have been prevented mar a memorable performance for you and everyone else.

Because of the teachers joining us for Irish Tune at the end of Saturday’s rehearsal, it will not be in the order of the concert.  The plurality of our time will be spent on Schubert so that we can make the few adjustments we need, then run through the entire movement a couple of times.  On the Overture, we will get more comfortable with the ending before we play all the way through.  On Dittersdorf, we will review the sections in B major, G# minor and the section before the cadenza before rehearsing the entire movement.  American Salute is ready to run.

One last bit of information about Irish Tune that we didn’t get to today.  In the bar after rehearsal 15, please note the following:
1st violin – bring out the F# on beat 2
2nd violin – you are the only part with half note–half note or half note–two quarters.  Exaggerate the dynamic markings
Viola, top line – bring out the C# on 1&
Viola, bottom line – bring out the A on beat 2
Cello – bring out the C# on 1&
Bass – bring out the G# on 3&

Here is the plan for Saturday – use this to help you prepare:
    2:30 – Tune & warm up
2:45 – American Salute – run and make any last minute adjustments
3:00 – Schubert – each section below with the instrumentation indicated, then tutti
        m.53-61, m.267-279 (clarinet, bassoon, & horn)
m.81-84 (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, & trombone)
m.299-303 (flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, trombone)
m.184-194 (oboe, bassoon, horn, trumpet, timpani)
        run
    4:00 – break
4:15 – Overture to Iphigenia in Aulis
        m.199-end
        run
    4:35 – Dittersdorf
        reh. 3-6, 7-cadenza
        run with Joseph
    5:00 – Irish Tune
