We made a lot of progress today, especially on American Salute and the Dittersdorf concerto. We also made significant musical progress on the Schubert symphony and the overture. We’ll schedule more time for the Grainger next week so we can understand it better.
Following are plans for next week:
American Salute – Work out the beginning to rehearsal F, then put the piece together
Schubert – Finish cleaning the development section, add the recapitulation and coda, then put it all together
Iphigenia – Work from top to bottom, stopping and fixing where necessary
Dittersdorf – Work from top to bottom, stopping and fixing where necessary
Irish Tune – Play through, working to balance parts and understand harmonic intricacies
The plan for next week is:
2:30 Tune, warm-up
2:45 American Salute
3:15 Schubert
4:00 break
4:15 Iphigenia
4:35 Dittersdorf
5:00 Irish Tune
